Build Your Own Vertical Herb Garden Using Rain Gutters!

Making your herb garden design to be a vertical herb garden can be done if you do not have a big vacant space at home for you to grow an herb garden, and you want to have your own herb garden design. A vertical herb garden is a type of herb garden design that are grown on walls, whether herbs are grown on natural hollows, graduated plant stands, recycled plastic  shoe organizers, trellises, and many more. There are many types of herbs that can easily thrive and adapt when planted in a vertical herb garden.
You will have to assess the location you are planning to make your vertical herb garden design and make sure that the location you are going to choose can receive natural sunlight for at least 6 hours per day.
To make your vertical herb garden more pleasing to the eyes, you can plant in making a vertical herb garden design with multiple layers.
After deciding on where to place your vertical herb garden, you will then have to decide on the design of your backdrop for your vertical herb garden design to look artistic. And if the wall you have chosen already has divots, you can use it to hold plugs or screws to hold your vertical herb garden securely.
You can use sturdy rain gutters for a vertical herb garden. Sturdy rain gutters can give sturdy support and room for growth. If you need to cut the rain gutters for it to fit on your wall, then you should cut it. You can actually make several stories (3-5 stories) of gardening space when using rain gutters.
Once you have your rain gutters ready, make sure you will drain enough holes at the bottom of the rain gutters to ensure proper drainage. Any herb garden without proper drainage can just damage herbs’ root systems, which can cause your herbs to die.
In rain gutters, you will have to screw it in every 6 inches using eye hooks. Securely screwing the gutters every 6 inches can make your vertical herb garden sturdy.
If you plan on making several stories of vertical herb garden, make sure that each story should have at least 2 feet to 3 feet of space between, making enough room to grow all your herbs planted in all layers.
Once rain gutters are secured, you can now fill it with gardening soil. You can mix organic compost, peat moss, and potting soil to provide your herbs with enough nutrients.
Once garden soil transfer is completed, you can now carefully transfer your herbs to the vertical herb garden.
